Alexander Baumgardt is a founding partner of Systemic Partners – an advisory firm helping its clients master complexity and resolve uncertainty in product, service and strategy. Alexander’s foremost goal and passion is to help decision makers see opportunities and become comfortable with innovative change.
Over a decade Alexander has built up a unique portfolio and methodology of systems thinking, interaction design, organization, strategic planning and visual modeling. As a consultant, he has been involved in designing leading experiences and programs in a diverse set of B2B and B2C industries such as automotive, consumer electronics, financial services, transportation, media, telecommunications and information technology. Prior to starting Systemic Partners, Alexander held several design leadership positions in Europe and the US including serving as Executive Director Interactive Branding for MetaDesign AG in Berlin.
Alexander believes in teaching as a method of continuous learning. He has been a guest lecturer at leading design schools such as HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd, ENSAD in Paris and CCA in San Francisco. He is also a member of the Interaction Design Program Advisory Board at CCA in San Francisco and serves as an Advisor to the European coordination of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) – a global network of professionals and academics dedicated to the advancement of interaction design as a craft.
Alexander is also a founder of De:Bug Magazine – the premier German online and print magazine focusing on the cutting edge of everything considered electronic culture since 1997.
